2007 BB&O PGA ASSISTANTS EVENT AT WEXHAMMay 10 th saw the sixth running of the Graham Hepsworth Memorial competition, the fourth time it had been hosted at Wexham Park . The course was in magnificent condition on the day, after the driest April on record, but the breezy conditions tested the majority of the field and only two players broke par. 45 Assistant Professionals from the local area competed for the trophy and Wexham's own Pro Staff was well represented. Gary Laird shot 66, Martin Heys a 71 (12th place) and Danny Rees a 73. Gary 's score was leading up until the last group when Richard Campbell from West Berkshire GC recorded a superb 62 for a new course record and a 4 stroke victory over Gary 's 66
Leslie Hepsworth (Graham's son) who is Sales Director for Srixon Golf,
presented the prizes and expressed his gratitude to sponsors such as Ping,
Srixon, Pro Quip, Stuburt, Brand International and R D A Smith.
The results were as follows :
1st Richard Campbell ( West Berks ) 62 -6 (New Course Record) 2nd Gary Laird ( Wexham Park ) 66 -2 3rd Matt Grady ( Blue Mountain ) 68 level par 4th Nigel Hart & (Newbury)
